So this is the first of three experimental videos I created for my FMP and here is the blurb to put it into context:

The over all concept:

We were given a list of graphic communication formats to choose from and then asked to create a piece of work with its content somehow relating back to the chosen format (if that makes sense?)

I chose the format screen based design and decided to specialise in moving image for screen. In order to meet the specific requirements of the brief I began my research into the early days of screen and took inspiration from that time for the titles of three short experiments in moving image.

One more layer to this project was the music. I approached different musicians asking them to choose a title and make a piece of music for it. I didn’t give them any information as to where the tile came from, so not to influence what they would create.

The track for this film was produced by Chris Moss Acid, i took inspiration from the track in terms of the pacing of the film and the darker nature of the content.

If your still reading this, I’ll now talk about the film above. The title of this work was taken from a term given to the cinema during it’s very early days. Putting this title into a new context it made me think about how many of us live our social lives through a computer and this is how I related this piece of work to my chosen format. Other then that it is completely open to interpretation.
