Finally I get round to posting some new work :)

For the letter S i my A-Z of graphic language I raise the question does style = fart? the statement famously made by one of graphic designs rock stars Stefan Sagmeister.

This statement stuck with me when I was first getting into the world of design. I was confused by it, but at the same time I agreed with it. Almost sticking to it religiously, now when I look back at my old work it is disjointed and lacks cohesion. Which came from taking this statement far to literally.

Each time I would produce a piece of design I would try my hardest to make it look different from the piece before it, so on and so on. I didnt want pepole to think the same person had done it, this worked and it helped me build a diverse selection of work to show, but this lack of cohesion upset me.

I began to question my mantra and it’s reasoning. I came to the conclusion that when work is produced to emulate a style then is worth nothing, but when the style is developed through original thinking and personal development then it has worth.

For any one that wants to know what this type is made of, it is expandable sponge. I filmed the sponge expanding from its original compressed state to what you see above. That video will uploaded at some point.
